**Die herausragende Qualität des Universitätslehrganges wird im Rahmen des Master of Science Kieferorthopädie (Continuing Education), MSc (CE), mit großem Erfolg gelebt.** Das zeigt sich durch zahlreiche internationale Studierende aus fast 66 Nationen (USA, Südafrika, Vereinigte Arabische Emirate, Neuseeland u.a.). Der Lehrgang erweitert die klassische Kieferorthopädie über die Behandlung von Kindern und Jugendlichen hinaus. Ein breites Feld wird der parodontal-/funktionstherapeutischen, prä-prothetischen und ästhetischen Behandlung von Erwachsenen eingeräumt. Transdisziplinäre Behandlungstechniken und -methoden werden praxisnah vermittelt, um Kieferorthopädie zum generationsübergreifenden Behandlungskonzept zu machen. Der digitale Workflow in der Kieferorthopädie sowie innovative Anwendungstechniken sind durchgehend in das State-of-the-Art-Curriculum integriert. ### Zulassungsvoraussetzungen - Abgeschlossenes Studium der Zahnmedizin an einer staatlich anerkannten öffentlichen oder privaten Hochschule bzw. gleichwertiger Abschluss. - Nachweis klinischer Ausbildung mit Möglichkeit zur Behandlung und Dokumentation von Patientenfällen während des Studiums. - Sprachkenntnisse auf mindestens Niveau B2 (GER) in der jeweiligen Unterrichtssprache. - Regelmäßige und aktive Teilnahme an allen vorgesehenen Modulen und Lehrveranstaltungen. - Zwei Jahre Berufserfahrung nach Approbation.

Making the right choice to achieve a natural appearance

Um ästhetische Ergebnisse zu erzielen, die im natürlichen Licht harmonisch wirken und ein ausgewogenes Verhältnis zwischen Farbwert und Farbton aufweisen, ist eine sorgfältige Analyse jedes prothetischen Falls unerlässlich. Dabei müssen verschiedene Parameter identifiziert werden: die gewünschte Farbe und Transluzenz, die Schichtstärke der Primärstruktur bei unterschiedlichen Präparationstypen sowie die Herausforderungen bei der Farbgebung in minimalen Räumen. Es verhält sich mit der Endodontie wie mit vielen Dingen im Leben. Man muss zuerst den Bezug dazu aufbauen. Danach erfährt man Dynamik, Leistungssteigerung und Freude an dieser Tätigkeit. Die Endodontie ist die Basis der modernen Zahnmedizin. In jeder Zahnarztpraxis fallen nahezu täglich endodontische Behandlungsfälle an. Oft werden diese als zeitaufwändige Therapiemaßnahme im Praxisalltag wahrgenommen, die nur mit Konzept, Training, modernen Materialien und Geräten systematisiert werden kann. Typischerweise erkennen Zahnärzt*innen das Potential für den Praxiserfolg, welches die Endodontie mit sich bringt, erst mit fortgeschrittenem Berufsleben. Der Master of Science (Continuing Education) Endodontie grenzt sich als Studiengang mit klaren akademischen und praktischen Inhalten, in seiner Konzeption und Ausrichtung, von herkömmlichen Curricula und Fortbildungskursen ab. Hierbei wird die Endodontie von der Basis bis zum „High-End" Bereich vermittelt, u. a. umfasst dies Themen, wie: Endochirurgie, Postendodontische Versorgung und Werkstoffkunde und Guided Endodontics – dreidimensionale Bildgebung in der Endodontie. ### Zulassungsvoraussetzungen - Abgeschlossenes Studium der Zahnmedizin an einer staatlich anerkannten öffentlichen oder privaten Hochschule bzw. gleichwertiger Abschluss. - Nachweis klinischer Ausbildung mit Möglichkeit zur Behandlung und Dokumentation von Patientenfällen während des Studiums. - Sprachkenntnisse auf mindestens Niveau B2 (GER) in der jeweiligen Unterrichtssprache. - Regelmäßige und aktive Teilnahme an allen vorgesehenen Modulen und Lehrveranstaltungen.

### Implantologie und Oralchirurgie Die Implantologie und Oralchirurgie sind zwei bedeutende Elemente der Zahn-, Mund- und Kieferheilkunde, die sich in ihrem Verständnis zweifelsfrei unterstützen und ergänzen. Dabei ist die Implantologie einer der größten Wachstumsbereiche. Kein anderes Gebiet hat sich in den letzten Jahren diagnostisch, therapeutisch und wissenschaftlich so stark weiterentwickelt. Aber auch die demographische Entwicklung, Multimorbidität älterer Patient*innen und das sich ständig wandelnde Spektrum der Medizin mit neuen Therapiemöglichkeiten stellen neue und immer höhere Ansprüche an die chirurgische Behandlung. Dabei dürfen auch die Bedürfnisse der/des Patient*in nicht vergessen werden. Nach wie vor wünscht die Mehrheit der Patient*innen trotz der allgemeinen Tendenz zur Spezialisierung eine ganzheitliche Behandlung bei ihrer Hauszahnärztin/ihrem Hauszahnarzt. ### Wissenschaftlicher Lernprozess Die Wissensvermittlung gesicherter Konzepte und Alternativen, verbunden mit manuellem Geschick, soll die Teilnehmer*innen in die Lage versetzen, auch in schwierigen Situationen der Forderung an eine erfolgreiche Implantation und Chirurgie gerecht zu werden und auch im Falle von Komplikationen souverän einzugreifen. Parodontologie und Implantologie

### Entzündliche parodontale Destruktionsprozesse Die Erkenntnisse über das Zustandekommen entzündlicher parodontaler Destruktionsprozesse sind in den vergangenen Jahren vertieft und erweitert worden. Es ist die **Gewebeantwort selbst**, hervorgerufen durch mikrobielle Reize aus subgingivalen Biofilmen, die die Destruktion des marginalen Parodontes einleitet und als chronische Parodontitis auch systemische Auswirkungen zeigt. ### Neue therapeutische Ansätze Neue Ansätze sind deshalb als Ergänzung zur mechanischen Therapie erarbeitet worden. Diese hat ihrerseits bezüglich Methodik und Instrumentation gewaltige Fortschritte gemacht. Durch die zeitgemäße Forderung nach Schonung von Geweben mit Regenerationspotenzial wurden die großzügigen parodontalen Lappenoperationen durch **grazile, rekonstruierende und reparierende Methoden** ersetzt, die selbst hohen ästhetischen Ansprüchen zu genügen vermögen. Der Paro-Therapie, wie auch der Endo-Therapie, sind jedoch Grenzen gesetzt. Zähne werden entfernt und durch Implantate ersetzt. ### Implantologie und Augmentation Die günstige Beurteilung der Qualität und der Quantität des alveolären Knochens sowie der Dicke der Mukosa mit adäquaten modernen Methoden ist primäre Voraussetzung für das korrekte Einbringen und den problemlosen Verbleib von Implantaten in zahnlosen Kieferabschnitten. Therapeutisch muss gegebenenfalls vorangehend an die Verankerung von Implantaten der Kieferknochen und/oder die periimplantäre Mukosa mit den Methoden der plastischen Parochirurgie augmentiert werden. ### Nachsorge und Mundpflege Parodontaltherapeutische Maßnahmen und Implantate bedürfen ausnahmslos persönlicher und professioneller Nachsorge. In die tägliche Mundpflege werden, den manuellen Fähigkeiten der/des Patient*in entsprechend, zeitgemäße mechanische, hydrodynamische und chemische Hilfsmittel einbezogen. ### Zulassungsvoraussetzungen - Abgeschlossenes Studium der Zahnmedizin an einer staatlich anerkannten öffentlichen oder privaten Hochschule bzw. gleichwertiger Abschluss. - Nachweis klinischer Ausbildung mit Möglichkeit zur Behandlung und Dokumentation von Patientenfällen während des Studiums. - Sprachkenntnisse auf mindestens Niveau B2 (GER) in der jeweiligen Unterrichtssprache. - Regelmäßige und aktive Teilnahme an allen vorgesehenen Modulen und Lehrveranstaltungen.
